Rhinoplasty Surgery
The original Rhinoplasty surgery techniques were first developed and practiced in India by the Father of all Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Sushruta, as far back as 500 B.C. Rhinoplasty surgery techniques almost the same as the ones we use today were recorded and used on people whose noses had been cut off as a form of torturing or crime punishment. It was not until the end of the nineteenth century that the first cosmetic nose plastic surgery was performed on a man whose nose shape and size was so deformed it kept him hidden from the public all his life, due to his embarrassment and fear of ridicule.
Rhinoplasty Surgery last two to three hours unless there are some complications. It can be done under local or general anesthetic, although general anesthesia is usually employed and you will sleep through the entire operation, only to wake up swollen but with a beautifully altered nose.
During the surgery, the skin is carefully separated from the underlying tissue allowing the surgeon to reach the bone and cartilage and reshape it according to the desired result. The incisions that are made are tiny, often inside the nose, and will not be visible after recovery.
